Tori Winders

By day, I’m a narrative strategist at Affirm. Before that, I spent several years at Block. Most recently I led Strategy & Operations across Corporate Affairs, and before that spent six years in Investor Relations, where I was promoted three times, worked weekly with Block’s CFO, and helped shape the external messaging around the Afterpay acquisition. I started my career in equity research at J.P. Morgan in New York.

Outside of work is where things get interesting. I write a Substack called Side Note for women navigating the beautiful, overwhelming work of actually living their lives.

Most recently, I started Conversation Club, a monthly print subscription that delivers personal essays and conversation starter cards to your door. I started it because I kept craving more of those nights where you drive home still thinking about what somebody said. The slow, face-to-face, laughing-until-late kind of connection that takes real intention in a world full of screens.

I live in Austin with my husband, our daughter Sloane (born this past February), and our golden retriever, Kona. I love hosting, long walks with friends, and documenting everything. I’m the person who saves receipts, restaurant menus, and every card anyone has ever written me.

I’ve never been great at picking one thing. But the thread through all of it is the same: I make things, I tell stories that matter, and I notice the details most people rush past.
